Blatt is a native iPhone app for making animated GIFs from your photos. Pick any sequence from your library, arrange the frames the way you want them, dial in the speed, add a visual effect, and export — in seconds, with no account required.

Everything You Need
Frames
Pick any number of photos from your library in the order you choose. Reorder by dragging the filmstrip, remove frames with a swipe, and rotate any frame 90°, 180°, or 270° before export.
Speed & Loop
Set the frame rate from 1 to 30 fps. Toggle looping on or off for GIFs that play once or repeat forever.
Size
Four output size presets keep file sizes under control:
- Original — source resolution unchanged
- Square — 1080 × 1080, perfect for Instagram posts
- Vertical — 1080 × 1920, ready for Reels and Shorts
- Small — 480 × 480, compact for messages and the web
Visual Effects
Apply one of fourteen effects to every frame before export — Photo Looks (Chrome, Fade, Instant, Mono, Process), Stylise (Thermal, X-Ray), Distortion (Droste, Glass, Zoom Blur), Pixel (Crystallize, Pixellate, Dots), and Threshold (Otsu).
Adjustable-intensity effects let you dial in exactly how strong the look is. Fixed-look effects — the photo looks, Thermal, X-Ray, and Otsu — apply with one tap.
Live Preview
A live animation preview shows your GIF playing at the chosen frame rate with the selected effect applied — exactly as it will export. Tap to pause, tap again to resume.
Export
Export via the share sheet to save to Photos, Files, Messages, or anywhere else. Blatt saves a copy to its own gallery so you can revisit and re-export any animation you've made.
Undo
Made a mistake? Undo after export moves the output file to the Trash instantly — your source photos are never modified.
Native and Private
Blatt is a native iPhone app built in SwiftUI. GIF encoding uses Apple's ImageIO framework directly — no third-party libraries, no cloud uploads, no account, no subscription required. Your photos never leave your device.
